Young Adult Division
BLIA-YAD (Melbourne) is the acronym for Buddha’s Light International Association, Young Adult Division, which is part of the global Buddhist Organisation, BLIA. We currently have three Melbourne BLIA-YAD divisions, consisting of BLIA-YAD 1 (CBD), BLIA-YAD 2 (Yarraville) and BLIA-YAD 3 (Box Hill).
We are made up of youths from diverse backgrounds who may not necessarily be Buddhists, but have come together to share the common interests of learning about Humanistic Buddhism and the true philosophies of life. We achieve this by organising numerous activities throughout the year to promote the teachings of Buddha and adopt the philosophy in our daily lifestyle.

With the amount of youths lost in directions, not knowing their purposes, mixing with the wrong crowds, wasting their lives away, BLIA-YAD was formed to help these people search for themselves, take responsibility for their own lives, develop the right vision towards their future, realising their dreams and become a value contributor to the community by participating in the activities such as Clean Up Australia Day, annual Buddha’s Day festival, 1000-Step Meditation Retreat, Dharma talks, just to name a few.
BLIA-YAD has put together monthly activities for 2010. Big events on its way, such as the Bodhi Camp, Australia & New Zealand Buddhist Youth Conference (ANZBYC), and International Buddha’s Light Youth Conference (IBYC) held in Taiwan. This has shown that we are constantly in close contact with all our BLIA-YAD friends throughout Australia and around the world.
